Audit and consulting

SEO audit

An in-depth analysis of your site — technical and strategic — with an implementation matrix that says exactly what to do first. Not a Screaming Frog CSV with eighty issues and no context.

What it is

An audit is not running a crawler and handing you the CSV

An audit is a systematic analysis of your site to find what is holding back its performance and its rankings. It needs context about your business, technical interpretation and the judgement to prioritise. And above all, it needs the ability to implement what it finds.

I specialise in technical SEO and I cover everything that makes a site competitive, from the most invisible layer to content strategy. A site with unresolved problems is not a pending project: it is a cost that runs every single day.

What gets analysed

Full coverage

The two axes that decide whether a site ranks: the technical one and the strategic one.

  • Indexing and crawlability: indexed URLs, crawl budget, robots.txt, sitemaps and canonicals
  • Technical SEO: rendering, performance, caching, duplication from filters and facets, structured data
  • On-page and content: titles, headings, search intent, cannibalisation and internal linking
  • Architecture: hierarchy, click depth, taxonomies and breadcrumbs
  • Off-page: link profile, quality, risk and a comparison against competitors
  • An implementation matrix with every finding rated by impact, relevance and difficulty

No shelfware

An audit is only worth something if it gets implemented

The usual ending for an audit: delivered, read, filed, expired. It does not get implemented because nobody has the technical capacity, because the budget went on the report, or because nobody followed up.

Here that loop closes: everything I propose I can implement myself, with no intermediate team losing the nuance in translation. You can contract the audit alone, or carry on into implementation.

  • Fixes to crawling, canonicals, redirects and sitemaps
  • Performance and Core Web Vitals improvements
  • Structured data, hreflang and any technical element
  • Custom development when the problem calls for it

How it works

A process, not an automated tool

Nobody knows your business better than you. That is why the audit starts with a conversation.

  1. Initial call

You tell me the state of the project: problems you have spotted, key pages, recent changes and objectives. That way the analysis focuses where it has most impact instead of going over everything equally.

  2. Access

Search Console, Analytics and, where relevant, CMS or server. Internal data is essential: what Google sees does not always match what you see in your browser.

  3. Analysis

Crawling, indexing, performance, architecture, content and links, with manual review of anything critical beyond what a tool exports.

  4. Sectioned report

Every problem documented with screenshots, examples and possible fixes, split by area so you can pass on only the relevant part to whoever needs it.

  5. Implementation matrix

The findings ordered by SEO impact, relevance to the project and estimated time. The work plan, not the list of complaints.

  6. Walkthrough call

We go over the errors and the fixes for as long as it takes, so the audit does not end up as a document nobody understands.

  7. Implementation (optional)

If you have no development team, or it has other priorities, I apply the changes myself.

FAQ

What people ask before hiring

How long does it take?

Two weeks for mid-sized sites. For large projects or e-commerce with many URLs the timeline is agreed on the initial call, where we also scope it according to priorities.

Do you fix the problems you find as well?

Yes, and it is what most sets this apart from other audits. You can contract it as a standalone service or carry on into implementation, either as a one-off project or inside the monthly service.

Is it technical, content or off-page?

It covers all of it: technical, on-page, architecture, content and off-page. And I go deeper into whatever affects your type of project most, unless you want an audit of one specific area.

What is the implementation matrix?

A document alongside the report where every finding is rated by expected ranking impact, relevance to the business and implementation difficulty. It is what lets you identify the 20% of actions that will produce 80% of the improvement, and do those first.

What access do you need?

The minimum is Search Console. With Analytics, CMS and server the analysis is considerably more complete. On the initial call I tell you exactly what is needed in your case.
